Bible School

A two-tier school consisting of: Glean Institute of Biblical Studies (GIBS), Glean Advanced Institute of Pastoral Studies (GAIPS).

Glean Institute of Biblical Studies offers a diploma course to Christian leaders who will eventually become church leaders in the new church plants.

Our emphasis is a hands on approach, although we believe in a solid theological education, yet we know that real theological education is the one that gives glory to God. As we train our pastors we stand with them in the field. We know from Scripture that Christ poured Himself into His disciples not by throwing the scriptures at them but by living out the scriptures before them. He taught the scriptures, he demonstrated the scriptures, he imparted the scriptures and finally he empowered his disciples for the work of ministry.

Our approach

Prospective students into the GBSI program are admitted only on the basis that they will go on to pastor a new church plant. We employ a process of standing along side of our students. Glean Ministries is responsible for the initial process and planting of the church, the prospective student is then placed as the home group leader while in training .He gets a ministry mentor who will work with him for a period of three years while he leads the home group, it is expected for the home group to grow in this period, he will then be ordained as an associate pastor of the church. At this point glean ministries begins to wean him and the church gradually. Eventually at the fifth year, the church will be fully handed over to the national.

Duration

The programs span over a five year period.

Extension Details

Glean Ministries takes into account the effect of the economic, geographic and socio-cultural situation of the student. In order to minimize the effect of these factors, Glean Ministries structures the student school program in such a way that students are gradually ushered into a pastoral role.

  • The student spends one week on the campus
  • Two months away with his assignment at home

As a way to reduce cost the student gets his assignment in folders along with the audio of the class work, Glean Ministries is aware of the value of the spoken word.

Ordination

As part of our pastoral discipleship program, Glean Ministries does not consider the student a pastor in the process of training although he will be in charge of a home group, which will eventually be given official church status. At the end of the three year program, the student will be then ordained the Associate Pastor of the home group.
